Get ready! BCYMP is participating in South Dakota Gives, our state’s second statewide giving day! The fun kicks off at midnight on Giving Tuesday, December 3 and continues until 11:59 pm that night.
What’s a Giving Day? It’s one day that non-profits can highlight their work, and donors across the state can celebrate generosity by giving to their favorite organizations.
Stop by our office on the SD Day of Giving to meet the staff and enjoy hotdogs and other tail-gaiting type of food. Everyone who stops by that day and drops off a donation in person will also be eligible for a drawing to win a vacation package donated by BCYMP Board Member, Shane Andersen, Brookings Home Team powered by Century 21 GKA.
“We’d love to see you on the third and to tell you more about all the good things happening at BCYMP,” said Darla Biel, Executive Director.
That afternoon, two elected officials, Dan Nelson, Brookings County State’s Attorney, and Leah Brink, City Council Member, will also have a hotdog eating contest to show how they are “hungry for (positive) changes” in the lives of Brookings County youth.
“Please watch our social media pages for more details about how the relationships formed between BCYMP Mentoring Pairs create lasting change for the Mentees we serve,” said Biel.
South Dakota Gives will award donations and incentives to the registered non-profits from the South Dakota Prize Pool, a truckload of money donated from individuals, businesses and foundations who believe in South Dakota—and the future of our state. And the fun and prizewinning has already begun.
South Dakota Gives will not take a percentage of donations received through its site, but acts as a platform from which to launch excitement and the ability for registered non-profits to showcase their volunteers and passion for meeting the needs in their community. Every cent donors give, goes to the organization they choose to support.
