Brookings, SD. (November 22, 2021) Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program (BCYMP) has announced Ali Teesdale will succeed Darla Biel as its Executive Director.
“I am excited for the future of BCYMP. As I talk to Ali about the program, it is easy to see the passion and drive she has as she looks ahead. BCYMP has been fortunate with past leadership and Ali will continue to do great things as the Executive Director,” said BCYMP Board President, Amy Button.
Teesdale started at BCYMP in early 2020 as the Volunteer and Family Engagement Coordinator. She will bring a history of nonprofit experience and a passion for working with youth in Brookings County. She earned her master’s in public administration from the University of South Dakota, and has previously worked with the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of South Dakota.
“I’m excited to build upon the strong foundation that has been created by previous leadership. BCYMP is growing and I am thrilled to continue to be a part of that in this new capacity. Ensuring youth have developmental relationships in their life is one way we make sure future generations are set up for success. I’m grateful to be leading such an impactful organization,” said Teesdale.
Teesdale’s responsibilities as executive director will include finding a new space for the growing organization and celebrating BCYMP’s 20th year anniversary celebration in 2022. “We have a big year ahead of us! We owe so much of the success of our program thus far to the community support and partnerships we have developed. This will be an exciting time of strengthening our current partnerships and starting new ones,” Teesdale said. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to reach out if interested in collaborating.
