BCYMP Thanksgiving Feast

On Sunday, November 18, over sixty BCYMP Mentors, Mentees and Mentees’ family members enjoyed a night of board games and delicious food at GracePoint Wesleyan Church.

A grant from Sioux Valley Energy allowed us to cater the amazing dinner from Mike Siegel at Midwest Fresh Catering. Everyone loved the turkey dinner with homemade side dishes, and one mentee was overheard saying, “That stuffing tastes like Grandma’s!” Another requested to take some of the tri-color roasted potatoes home so he could “take them to Grandma’s for Thanksgiving.” Thank you!

Thank you, also, to GracePoint for donating the use of their Activity Center for the BCYMP Event. It was a beautiful and welcoming place for the BCYMP Thanksgiving Meal. The church had the tables decorated for a meal they’d served earlier that day to 800 worshipers  and they will also be serving their 9th annual Thanksgiving Day meal from 12-1:30 p.m.  to hundreds of students and others in the community who do not have somewhere to go over the holiday.

If you know of anyone in Brookings who is unable to attend the meal at GracePoint, due to work or other reasons, and could use a meal delivered to them, or if you know anyone who would like a ride to the church to attend the meal, please let GracePoint know by calling 692-6671 or sending and email to  communitylife@gracepointwesleyan.org
